Requiem mass for Hubert McGuire was solemnized this Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic church by Rev. J. A. MaMahon. Mr. McGuire died on Sunday, July 27, at the Veterans hospital at Hines, Ill. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.

Mr. McGuire was a long-time resident of Anamosa and a veteran of World war I. He was born at Anamosa on Jan. 19, 1891, and graduated from high school here and from the University of Iowa.

For the last five years he has been connected with the Webster-Chicago corporation. He was a son of Thomas and Bridget McGuire, early Anamosa residents. He never married.

Immediate surviving relatives include a brother, John McGuire, Chicago, and half-brothers, James Conway, Chicago and Neil Conway, Cedar Rapids.

Pall bearers were Glen J. McLaughlin, James Johnston, John Gootee, Vincent McGreevey, Leonard Boos and Clyde Barker.

McNamara funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
