TEMPLE HILL - Charles Leonard, lifetime resident of Temple Hill, died at Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 7:30 a.m. in Finley hospital, Dubuque, following an operation. He had been seriously ill for several weeks.

Charles Leonard was born in Temple Hill, May 3, 1868, son of Thomas and Margaret Shannon Leonard. On Nov. 6, 1903, he was married to Margaret English. Marriage took place at St. Peter's church, Temple Hill, and was performed by Rev. Coffey.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Miss Mary Leonard; three sons, Joseph, Thomas and Michael; two brothers, William, Chicago, Ill., George, Armour, S. Dak.; two sisters, Miss Emma, Buffalo, N.Y., and Miss Maria, Dubuque. He was preceeded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral service was held from the Devaney Funeral home to St. Peter's church at Temple Hill on Friday, Aug. 27, at 9 a.m. Rev. H. N. Ginter officiated at the mass of requiem and prayers at the grave with interment being made in the adjoining cemetery.

Casket bearers, all nephews and grand nephews of the deceased, were: Dr. F. S. Leonard, William, Miles, Wilbur, Cletus and Glynn Leonard.
