Funeral service for Alfred G. Remley, 66, was held Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Smykil Home for Funerals. Mr. Remley died at his home last Thursday night.

Mr. Remley was an active member in local civic organizations, being a member of the Masonic lodge and Consistory, Anamosa Improvement Corp., Rotary club and served as treasurer of the Anamosa Baptist church.

He was a graduate of the Anamosa high school and the University of Iowa.

After completing his education, Mr. Remley returned to Anamosa where he became engaged in business. He was associated with the Anamosa Lumber Co. for the last 39 years.

Mr. Remley was married in July, 1913, to Lenna Osborn.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Remley; his son, Howard M., Anamosa; his daughter, Mrs. Ira E. Scott, Philo, Ill.; three brothers, Robert G., Webster City; Howard M., Mason City; James E., Anamosa; and four sisters, Agnes, Bertha, Clara, Elsie, all living in Seattle.

Also surviving are four nieces: Mrs. Beth James, Marilyn Browning, Eleanor Browning, and Mrs. Mary Wunder. Remley J. Glass, Mason City, is a cousin of Mr. Remley.

Rev. Walter D. Wigger, Baptist pastor, officiated at the funeral service, assisted by Rev. Barney C. Crockett, Congregational minister.

Casket bearers were: Lee M. Sanner, Peter S. Robertson, Eugene B. Rees, Clyde S. Wilson, George E. Watters and Harold Larson, all from Anamosa.

Burial was made in the Riverside cemetery at Anamosa.
