Funeral service for Benjamin Franklin Curley, 88, was held Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Smykil Home for funerals.

Mr. Curley died Sunday at City Memorial hospital in Maquoketa after an extended illness. He was born in Illinois on Sept. 25, 1858, a son of Jacob Curley and Anna Holmstead.

He came to Iowa at the age of 14 years and on Feb. 2, 1891 was united in marriage to Nellie Young. Surviving are the widow; daughters, Mrs. Cecil Porter of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Elizabeth Zoller of Los Angeles and a son, Raymond of Hale.

Until 1940 the couple lived at Hale and then moved to Anamosa. Mr. and Mrs. Curley had planned to observe their 56th wedding anniversary on Feb. 2, 1947.

Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.
