Mrs. Clayton Hartman, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 30, at Maple Manor Rest home, Aplington, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb and Rev. Robert Cleveland will conduct the service. Burial will be in Wilcox cemetery, near Viola. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include Wilson Kouba, James T. Remley, Neal Robertson, Donald S. Ruhl, Harold Larson and Donald Goodman.

She was born March 23, 1876, daughter of Jesse and Nancy Stevens Evans, Linn county. She was married to Clayton Hartman Feb. 22, 1897. Couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in February, 1964. Couple lived on a farm near Anamosa before moving to Anamosa to make their home.

She was a member of the Methodist church, Women's Society of Christian service and Daughters of American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rorem, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Elda, Mrs. Glen Sones, Hampton; two sons, Harold Hartman, Anamosa, and Dr. Howard Hartman, Waterloo; one brother, Frank Evans, Waterloo; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin daughters in infancy; two brothers and two sisters.
