HODOVAL, HUFFMAN, SOKOL

March 6, 1947 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION - Mrs. Kate Hodoval, 83, died Tuesday at 12:04 p.m. in Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, where she had been a patient a week.

Mrs. Hodoval, who had been living with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hoffman, Cedar Rapids, was taken to the hospital Tuesday of last week after she fell and broke a hip.

Funeral service was Friday in Oxford Junction.

Mrs. Hodoval, the former Kate Sokol, is survived by five sons, William, Bellevue; Ed, Onslow; Louis, Orlando, Fla.; Joe, Savanna, Ill.; and Frank, Oxford Junction; one daughter, Mrs. Huffman, and four grandchildren.

A son, Alvin, preceded her in death.

March 13, 1947 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service for Mrs. Kate Hodovol, 83, was held Friday at 2 p.m. in the English Lutheran church. Rev. Wesley J. Buck conducted the service.

Hymns were sung by Mrs. Louis Ingwersen and Mrs. Otto Koranda, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Flowers were in charge of American Legion auxiliary members.

Casket bearers were Louis Kula, L. H. Biddick, Charles Slouha, Frank Benhart, James Homolka and John Burda. Interment was in Mayflower cemetery.
