OXFORD JUNCTION - Final rites were held in the English Lutheran church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for William Twachtmann, 53, who died Wednesday in the home of his sister, Mrs. Frank Rushford, near Anamosa.

Rev. W. J. Buck conducted the service. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Louis Igwersen and Mrs. Otto Koranda, accompanied by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn, pianist.

Casket bearers were Gale Peters, Albert Kolarik, Arthur Butler, Robert Nowachek, Raymond Sobotka and Glenn Reginetter. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery, with military rites by Wapsie post, American Legion.

Mr. Twachtmann served in World war I and had been in the veterans hospital, Des Moines, since last September. He had a limb amputated nine weeks ago and was home on leave when he died.

Mr. Twachtmann was born near Lowden Aug. 24, 1893, son of Diedrich and Catherine Twachtmann. He is survived by his mother, 87, Oxford Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Elwyn Beardsley and Miss Lorene Twachtmann, Anamosa; a son, Robert, Glenwood; three brothers, Walter, Oxford Junction, Dick, Lowden, and August, Toronto; four sisters, Mrs. Rushford, Mrs. Emma Seifert, Wheatland, and Mrs. Rudolph Scharm and Mrs. Ida Gade, Lytton.
