20 March 1947 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Rudolph Trejtnar, 58, who died Sunday of a heart attack, was held Tuesday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. J. A. McMahon officiated.

Casket bearers were Albert Ament, Lou Kula, Leo Loyet, Louie Yanda, John Holub and L. D. Murfield.

Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Prairieburg.

Mr. Trejtnar had been in the shoe repair business in Anamosa the last 27 years.

He was born March 24, 1888, in Czechoslovakia, son of Peter and Mary Trejtnar. He came to this country when he was 19 years old and worked at the starch works in Cedar Rapids until 1920. He then came to Anamosa where he started a shoe repair shop. He was married July 19, 1920, to Mrs. Emma Fusek.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters by a previous marriage, Gladys, Emma and Mary Florence Trejtnar, Anamosa, and Agens Trejtnar, Cedar Rapids; four step-daughters, Mrs. Annie Marek, Coggon; Mrs. Lavonna Lawrence, Monticello; Mrs. Wilma Plauer and Mrs. Mary Plauer, Prairieburg, and a stepson Matthew J. Fusek, Anamosa.

Also surviving are his mother, a brother, Peter, and a sister, Mary, all in Czechoslovakia, and a brother, Joseph, Cedar Rapids.
