CASTLE GROVE - Funeral services for Nicholas Gudenkauf, 86, were held Saturday morning at St. John's Catholic church, Coggon, with Msgr. Gormon officiating. Burial was in Immaculate Conception cemetery at Castle Grove with graveside services conducted by Msgr. J. J. Hennessey.

Mr. Gudenkauf died Wednesday morning. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Emil Grief at Coggon. He was born June 11, 1878 in rural Monticello, the son of August and Elizabeth Kaiser Gudenkauf.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Emil (Josephine) Greif, Coggon; Mrs. Art (Loretta) Weber, Monticello; Mrs. Clem (Mary) Manternach, Cascade; three sons, Edward, Cascade, Leo, Ryan and Clarence, Manchester; one sister, Mrs. Frank Besler of Worthington, 37 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren.
