ONSLOW - Military services were held for Howard Hoyt Green, 71, at Hayes Funeral home with the Rev. Nevin E. William officiating. Burial was in the Clay cemetery.

Mr. Green, son of Thomas and Mabel Dubois Green, was born in June 1893 on the farm which has been his life long home. He attended Jones county rural schools, the Onslow high school and the Davenport Business college. He was a World War I veteran.

In March 1942, he married Maizie Meade of Oxford Mills. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son, Gerald; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Overholt, Clinton; Mrs. Fannie Hicks, Onslow and one granddaughter.
