ANAMOSA - Funeral services for J. Stanley Waggoner, 67, were held Friday afternoon at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello. The Rev. Luther Wachholz officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Mr. Waggoner died Jan. 26 while doing business in Citizen's bank in Anamosa. He suffered a heart attack.

He was born Oct. 27, 1897 in Jackson township, the son of James Frank and Carrie Bills Waggoner. He was married to Tena Husmann on Dec. 18, 1919. He farmed in Jackson township until moving to Anamosa in 1954. He was also a salesman for a hybrid seed corn company.

He was active with the Jones county Conservation board and at the time of his death was fieldman for that group. He was also a member of Anamosa lodge No. 46 AF&AM, Mt. Sinai chapter, Mr. Olivet Commandery and El Kahir shrine.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Starr, Wyoming; one son, Leo of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, and one brother Harold of Anamosa.
