SCOTCH GROVE - Funeral services for John Frederick Bohlken, 49, were held Saturday afternoon at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello. The Rev. Luther Wachholz officiated. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Mr. Bohlken died Jan. 26 at University hospitals, Iowa City, following a short illness. He was born July 18, 1915 at Scotch Grove, the son of Tobias R. and Meta Burrack Bohlken. He spent his entire life in Scotch Grove township and was engaged in farming. He attended the rural schools of Jones county. He was a member of Wayne Zion church.

He is survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Elise Bohlken, rural Scotch Grove; one brother, George of Scotch Grove; one sisters, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Saathoff, Mt. Vernon, and two step-sisters, Katherine of Scotch Grove, and Mrs. Don (Irma Jean) Skelley, Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1918 and his father in 1956.
