Mrs. Charles G. Dawes, 73, Marion, former Anamosa resident, died last Monday in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, where she was a patient four days.

Funeral service was Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. F. E. Somerville, Wyoming Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Casket bearers were Charles Ryan, Tom Stimson, Ramsay Henrickson, George Brainard, Kyle Poole and Peter Johannsen.

Pearl Clapper, eldest daughter of George W. and Dora Clapper, was born Aug. 6, 1873, in Manawa, Wisc., and moved to Pittsville when she was 10 years old. She later moved to Thorpe, Wisc., where she taught school for many years.

On June 28, 1903, she married Mr. Dawes at Lindsay, Wisc. The couple came to Iowa a year later and with the exception of two years spent in Rock Island, Ill., always lived in this state.

Couple moved for a farm near Anamosa six years ago.

She was a member of the Congregational church; Royal Neighbors lodge; Rebekah lodge, and Noble Grand association.

She is survived by her husband and a sister, Mrs. Helen Schultz, Larsen, Wisc.

Two brothers preceded her in death.
