Funeral service for Frank M. Grafft, 83, who died Friday at his home in Anamosa, was held Monday from the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. R. A. Badger, Jesup, officiated at the service assisted by Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., Anamosa. Music was furnished by Mrs. Grace Porter, accompanied by Mrs. Delbert Brickley.

Honorary pallbearers were John Merrill, Harry Witham, Otto Stamy and R. D. Finnigan. Casketbearers were Loyal Byerly, Clifford Blayney, Price Blayney, Clarence Grafft, Leland Starry and H. D. Gilmore. Interment was made in Green Center cemetery, near Morley.

Frank M. Grafft was born in Jackson township, Jones county, Ia., Dec. 18, 1862, and lived all his life in Jones county. Last 18 years were spent in Anamosa where he died Jan. 25, 1946. He was the last to survive of a family of nine children born to David and Christina Grafft.

He was married Jan. 9, 1895, to Jennie Starry. Two children, Frances and Marion, were born to the union. Mr. and Mrs. Grafft celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in January, 1945.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge, Anamosa.

Surviving are Mrs. Grafft, a daughter, Mrs. Lee Voorhies, Marion, a son, Marion D., residing on the home farm in Jackson township, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
