MORLEY - L. Otho Brokaw, 75, died Tuesday at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, where he had been a patient nine days. He was taken there when complications set in following a severe case of influenza.

Funeral arrangements are pending arrival of a son, Glenn, serving in the U.S. Army, who left Korea April 20 by plane and who was expected to arrive home Thursday or Friday. Body is at the Smykil Home for Funerals.

Other survivors are his wife and another son, Donald, Morley, and two grandchildren, Kenneth and John Brokaw. Mr. Brokaw had lived near Morley 60 years.

MORLEY - Funeral service for L. Otho Brokaw, 75, who died April 23 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, was held last Friday afternoon at the United Brethren church in Morley. Rev. C. L. Windsor officiated, assisted by Rev. H. N. Hulse. Burial was made in the Mount Vernon cemetery. Pallbearers were Perry Russell, Harlan Russell, Frank Miller, Leland Miller, Ray Embree and Otis Siver. Singers were Lynn Miller, Robert Bainbridge, Lloyd Siefken and Lewis Vernon.

Lowrie Otho Brokaw, son of Abraham and Lavina Brokaw, was born in Boone county, Iowa, April 13, 1871. Family moved to Jones county in the fall of 1871, where he spent nearly his entire life as a farmer, living 33 years in the present home.

On Oct. 4, 1906, he was married to Alice Stone. To this union were born three sons, Donald, Kenneth and Glenn. Kenneth died in early childhood. Donald, his wife and two sons, Kenneth and John, reside on a nearby farm and Glenn is in the armed forces.

Other survivors are his wife, a brother, John Brokaw, Wheatland, and two sisters, Lana and Louise Brokaw, Santa Ana, Calif.
