WAYNE - Funeral service for Mrs. Mina Brokens was held Thursday afternoon at the Wayne Lutheran church. A Monticello funeral home was in charge. Rev. F. H. Kehren was officiating pastor. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Brokens died July 22 at a Monticello hospital following a two months illness. She made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Fechtam in Wayne township.

She was born Dec. 27, 1861, in Strackholt, Germany. She lived in this country 60 years. On Oct. 3, 1883, she was married to John Brokens in Germany. Three daughters, one of whom, Anna Eliza Stadtmueller, preceded her mother in death.

Survivors include Mrs. Etta Stadmueller, Castle Grove township; Mrs. John Fechtman (Lena); a brother, Brunke Saathoff, Ryan; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
