SCOTCH GROVE - Miss Irma Sanford, 72, Scotch Grove, died Sunday, Jan. 31, at University hospital, Iowa City, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello. Rev. J. B. Wild, pastor of the Presbyterian church, Monticello, conducted the service. Burial was in the Scotch Grove Presbyterian cemetery.

Pallbearers included Ben Otten, Scotch Grove; Ben Otten, jr., Monticello; Donald Grom, James Otten, and Harry Guyan, all of Scotch Grove; and John Sanford, Anamosa.

She was born July 19, 1893, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delano Sanford, Scotch Grove. She attended the local school and graduated from Monticello public school.

She taught school for many years, her last position being in the schools at Goose Lake, before illness forced her to retire. She was a patient at the Oakdale hospital for a time, but had been making her home in West Branch.

Survivors include two brothers, Ray D. Sanford, Scotch Grove, and Elmer Sanford, Marion.
