VIOLA - Frank Studer, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Hunte Funeral home, Springville. Rev. J. E. Webb conducted the service. Burial was in Wilcox cemetery near Viola.

He was born April 19, 1885, son of Warren and Mary Conner Studer, Mechanicsville. He was married on Feb. 3, 1909, to Pearl Johnson, Anamosa. They spent the greater part of their life in and around Jones county.

In the early 1930's they moved to Viola where they operated a grocery store and post office. When ill health forced his wife's retirement he sold the grocery business and served as postal clerk until his retirement in October, 1956.

Survivors include three brothers, Ray, Cedar Rapids; George, Anamosa; and Warren, Mundelein, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and two sisters.
