MONTIELLO - Funeral service for Mrs. Gerhard Schmidt, 37, was held Thursday afternoon of last week in the Methodist church here. Rev. Virgil C. Grant, pastor, officiated. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Schmidt, the former Mary Velma Clark, was born in Martelle, daughter of Bert and August Clark. She was graduated from the Martelle high school in 1929. She was married April 13, 1940, at St. John's Lutheran church.

In addition to her husband and father she is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise, two sons, Richard and Marion Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Donald Bunce, Martelle; Mrs. Edmund Sealls, Olin and Mrs. Agnes Dollarhide, Martelle, and four brothers, Oliver, Howard, Homer and Harley Clark, all Martelle. One son preceded her in death.
