Funeral service for Mrs. Freda Soper, 32, who died Friday at 6:45 a.m. in Mercy hospital, was held Sunday afternoon in St. Paul's American Lutheran church, following a prayer service at the Smykil Home for Funerals.

Rev. H. L. Buesing, pastor, officiated and the hymns "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "An Hour of Peaceful Rest" were sung by George Wessels and Miss Wilma Schroeder, accompanied by Mrs. Buesing at the organ.

Casket bearers were Irvin Hovet, Henry Hartman, Arthur Marek, Jess Conrad, Curt Sutton and Lawrence Otten. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Freda Anna Soper, daughter of Menno and Sophia Zimmerman, was born Feb. 5, 1915, in Center Junction and attended the Olin Consolidated high school. She was confirmed in Wayne Zion Lutheran church and was a member of St. Paul's church, Anamosa. She was married to Horace Soper on Aug. 26, 1933.

Mrs. Soper had been employed at Gordon's grocery store. She was ill only a week, having entered the hospital on Thursday, Aug. 14.

She is survived by four children, Betty Lou, 13; Donald Ray, 11; Donna Mae, 8, and Jo Ann, 5; her father and stepmother of Anamosa; five brothers, Louis Zimmerman, Clarence, August and Meinhart Zimmerman, Olin; George Zimmerman, Hale, and John Zimmerman, Cedar Rapids, and five sisters, Mrs. L. W. Frankfurt and Mrs. Margaret Houstman, Anamosa; Mrs. Marion Byers, Olin; Mrs. Richard Luck, Oelwein and Mrs. Robert Paulson, Chicago.
