Daniel E. Streeter, 85, who lived on a farm near Anamosa most of his life, died early Saturday at a Cedar Rapids nursing home following a long illness.

He was born June 17, 1861 in Erie, Pa., son of Samuel and Caroline Streeter. He was married to Miss Amanda Berglund in Chippewa Co., Minnesota, Sept. 9, 1885. To this union four children were born, one daughter and three sons. One son, Frank, and his wife preceded him in death.

They spent most of their lives on their farm near Anamosa. During the years between 1880 and 1890 he taught in several one room country schoolhouses, including Newport and Pleasant Hill. He was a member of the Adventist church.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley and Vern, Anamosa; a daughter, Mrs. R. M. Schaefer, Cedar Rapids; a brother, Louis, Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. Harry Tschirgi, Portland, Ore.; a grandson, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at a Cedar Rapids funeral home with Rev. A. V. McClure in charge. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Frank Post, J. W. Streeter, Donald Bunce, Roy Carlson, Parke Ogden and John Hayes.
