OLIN - Funeral service was held at the Campbell funeral home in Olin for Mrs. Eva Vernon, 65, Sunday, Jan. 20, with the Rev. Stewart, Stanwood, officiating. Burial was made in the Olin cemetery.

Eva M. Stingley, daughter of Andrew and Margaret Stingley, was born Feb. 9, 1880, in Keokuk county, Ia. When she was a small child the family moved to Jones county where she spent the rest of her life. She died at her home in Olin, Jan. 18.

On Nov. 23, 1899, she was married to George F. Vernon, who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1936. To this union six children were born: Calvin, who died at 19 months of age; Wayne, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Marguerite Smith, Stanwood; Virgil, Olin; Mrs. Helen Jensen, Elk River, Minn.; and Malcom, College Park, Ga. Surviving are are three brothers: Logan Stingley, Cedar Rapids; Theodore Stingley, Medina, O.; D. D. Stingley, Reno, Nev., and 15 grandchildren.

Soon after her marriage she became a member of the Christian church, Olin.

Mrs. Merle Ballou sang, accompanied by Mrs. J. J. Rohwedder. Pallbearers were Bliss Switzer, Walter Latare, Merle Ballou, Irvin Schroeder, Robert Swartzell, and Omar Vrooman.
