Solemn High Requiem Mass was read at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Anamosa Saturday by Rev. J. A. McMahon for Miss Mary Flaherty, 78, who died Thursday afternoon at Mercy hospital following a long illness. Rev. Ivan Boyd assisted with the service. Burial was made in Holy Cross cemetery.

Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Smykil Funeral Home.

Miss Flaherty, a life-time resident of Jones county, was born Sept. 16, 1866, in Cass township, the daughter of Thomas and Johanna Flaherty.

Surviving are three brothers, Timothy and Patrick, with whom she made her home, and Thomas of Dolan, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Frank, and a sister Catherine Flaherty.

Pallbearers were Edward Husmann, A. Parke Ogden, Wes Marek, Rudolph Soukup, Milton Chesire and Thomas Hanlon.
