Joe Fisher, 50, former leader and manager of Fisher's dance orchestra, who was widely known throughout eastern Iowa, died Tuesday at the A. E. Christophersen home at Clarence. He had been ill about a year.

Born at Oxford Junction, Fisher had lived in the vicinity of Clarence until 1929, when he located in Mount Vernon, remaining there 14 years. His orchestra was disbanded in 1943 because of the war. He had lived in Clarence the last year.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dora Christophersen; six sons and daughters: Albert Fisher, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Dorothy Tenant, Oregon City, Ore.; Lieut. Robert Fisher, Army Air forces in the south Pacific; Lieut. Howard Fisher, Army Air forces, now home on furlough; Mrs. Marian Tillett, Kane, Kyo., and Mildred Fisher, Mount Vernon.

Service will be held this Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical church in Clarence. Masonic rites will be held at the grave in Mount Vernon cemetery.
