Funeral service for Arthur Lister, 72, who died Saturday afternoon at his home near Anamosa, was held Tuesday afternoon at the Loder Funeral home. Rev. M. L. Sunderlin of the Methodist church officiated, and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers were Verne Shaffer, A. Hazel Smith, L. A. Downing, G. F. Dearborn, Ed O'Deen, Lawrence Shanney. Dorothy Driebelbis sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Julius Westfall.

He was born Sept. 16, 1872, the youngest child of James and Jane Perry Lister. The other children were Jane, Thomas and George. His life was spent on the farm three miles north of Anamosa, where he was closely associated in his occupation with his brother, Tom, who died less than six months ago.

He was united in marriage to Miss Janet McLean at Anamosa April 13, 1908. Two daughters, Agatha, now Mrs. Harold Larson; and Phyllis, both of whom survive, were born to the union. Mrs. Lister died in June, 1930.

Mr. Lister was a charter member of the Farm Bureau and also of the Anamosa Creamery association, and for many years president of the creamery group, which position he held at the time of his death. He was a member of the Anamosa school board for 12 years, and president at the time of his death. He was also a member of Odd Fellows lodge, No. 40, Anamosa.

Surviving besides his daughters are two grandsons, Dennis and Douglas Larson, and one niece, Mrs. Fred Gordon, Waverly.
