OXFORD JUNCTION - Number of friends of Otis A. Gable, 65, attended his funeral service, held in Cedar Rapids Monday. Mr. Gable's home for the last 10 years had been in Tipton, where he was proprietor of a grain and seed store, Previous to that he lived for many years in Oxford Junction.

He was born June 16, 1879, at Lost Nation. He was owner and operator of a lumber company in Oxford Junction, where he served on the school board for 25 years, was a member of the town council, and during World War I was chairman of the Jones county Red Cross. He was also scoutmaster of the Oxford Junction troop, a member of A.F. and A.M., Tipton, and 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and a member of the Peerless chapter O.E.S., Oxford Junction.

He died Wednesday morning after a five months illness in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, one son, O. A. Gable, jr., navy coxswain in the South Pacific, one daughter, Mrs. William Horstman, Toronto.

Funeral service was held in the Turner chapel in Cedar Rapids, and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
