Solemn high requiem mass will be celebrated for John Joseph Fogarty, 71, at the Castle Grove Catholic church at 9:45 a.m. this Friday. Mr. Fogarty died Wednesday morning at Mercy hospital in Anamosa. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception cemetery at Castle Grove. McNamara Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 14, 1873, and spent nearly his entire life in this community. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Ellen Hennessey.

Surviving are a son, Daniel, in the service somewhere in the Pacific; a sister, Margaret, and a brother, Dan, Anamosa.
