OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for Mrs. Susan Leslie, 83, was held Monday afternoon at the Hayden funeral home. The Reverend Wilbur Atltheide conducted the service. Hymns were sung by Marjorie Leslie and Lyle Jeffrey. Those serving as pallbearers were Ambrose Jeffrey, Fred McClure, Austin Conway, Ted Hodgden, Vern Hodgden and Otto Benhart. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Leslie died Friday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Cecil Wooder, where she had made her home for the last year. Ten weeks ago she fell and fractured her leg, and had not been able to be about since. She was born Susan Switzer, Feb. 16, 1861, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Switzer, and came west and to Clarence when a small girl with her family.

She was united in marriage to Sam Leslie Jan. 29,1880, and for a number of years they farmed near Hale. They retired to Oxford Mills where Mr. Leslie died Oct. 21, 1927.

Eleven children, six sons and five daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Leslie. Only two daughters survive. They are Mrs. Wooder, Oxford Junction; and Mrs. Eliza Havlichek, Monticello; also 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben Switzer, Olin; and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Hollingsworth, Iowa City.
