Funeral service for Mrs. Lota E. Holcomb, 76, who died last Thursday at her home near Martelle, was held at the Martelle Christian church Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Samuel Noah officiated.

Mrs. James Miller and Mrs. Glen Strothers sang and were accompanied by Mrs. Claire Armstrong. Pallbearers were G. J. Armstrong, Claire Armstrong, Clancey Newman, Lawrence Holcomb, Kenneth Holcomb, and Elmer James. Burial was at Norwich cemetery.

Lota E. Holcomb was born near Martelle, Mar. 12, 1858, the daughter of Emanuel and Elizabeth Newman and died Oct. 12, 1944. Feb. 7, 1889 she was united in marriage to Frank D. Holcomb.

Two sons were born to the union, Myron D., who died in early childhood, and Dillon B., who survives. Other survivors are her brothers, George Newman, Martelle, and Otis Newman, Center Point.
