Funeral service for Thomas Lister, 75, who died Monday at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, was held Wednesday afternoon at the Smykil Funeral home. Rev. J. K. Delahooke officiated. Pallbearers were Frank Dearborn, Harris Johnson, Edward O'Deen, John Ronen, Verne Schaffer and Michael Shanney. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Thomas Lister, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lister, was born in a log cabin Nov. 19, 1868, one mile east of the place where he spent his entire life. He was one of four children, two of whom preceded him in death, a brother, George, and a sister, Jennie. His parents also preceded him in death.

He grew to manhood in the community of his birth, and Jan. 1, 1900, he was united in marriage to Miss Marie Carper, Anamosa. To this union one child, Margaret, was born, the mother passing away soon thereafter. Dec. 3, 1911, he was married to Miss May Todd, Sutherland, Ia. She died in October, 1938.

He was engaged in farming throughout his entire life, most of the time in partnership with his brother, Art. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and a supporter of the First Methodist church.

Besides his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Gordon, Waverly, he is survived by his brother, Art Lister, and his nieces Phyllis Lister and Mrs. Harold Larson, all of Anamosa.
