OLIN - Funeral service was conducted at the United Brethren church Thursday afternoon, Dec. 28, for Wilson A. Simmons, with Rev. W. T. Boston in charge. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Mrs. Nellie Stivers and Mrs. Emma Clay sang, "In the Garden," and "Good Night and Good Morning," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Louis Rohwedder. Casket bearers were M. C. Starry, Harlan Starry, Hermie Hotz, Laverne Simmons, Earl Smith and Jesse Starry.

William A., son of Jacob and Martha Simmons, was born April 29, 1872, near Olin, died suddenly about six o'clock Tuesday morning, December 26, 1944, at the age of 72 years. He was the sixth in a family of ten children.

Nov. 20, 1891, he was united in marriage to Ada Mae Hammond. To this union 12 children were born. He lived on a farm near Olin for 45 years. His entire life was lived in Jones county.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife, 12 children, Edna Mae Emerson, Gladys Jurgensen, Edgar D., Percy L., Elva Monroe, Parley R., Erma Maiden, Wilber S., Marguerite Moreland, Alta Darrow, Delbert M., and Marvin D., four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Starry, Mrs. Mabel Mitchell, Mrs. Ella Starry and Mrs. Alma Starry, 40 nieces and nephews, 47 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Edgar D. was in World war I and Marvin D. is in China in World war II. Six grandsons are also in the military service.
