WYOMING - Funeral service for Elias L. Anderson, 79, who died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at the home of his son, was held Saturday afternoon from the Wyoming Methodist church with the pastor, The Rev. E. G. Steinman, officiating.

Elias L. Anderson, son of Zachariah and Elsie Anderson, was born May 2, 1866, in Sterling, Ill. He came to the vicinity of Wyoming with his parents at the age of 17, and settled on a farm. Dec. 12, 1889, he was married to Kate Pavey, and in 1939 they observed their 50th anniversary. In 1914 they moved to Wyoming, which was their home until 1944, when his wife preceded him in death after which time he resided with his son.

He was a member of the Methodist church and the Modern Woodmen of America.

He is survived by three children: Mrs. Nelson Brownell, Iowa City; Mrs. George Paulsen, Onslow, and a son, Russell, on the home farm, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Paul, died in infancy. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He also leaves two brothers, Oliver and Chris, Wyoming; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Hauser, Cambridge, Minn., and Mrs. Ella Hood, Fremont, Neb.

Those from out of town attending the service were Mrs. A. W. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Anderson, all of Rock Island; Mrs. Grace Smith, Peoria, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson, Anamosa, and Mrs. Josephine Gossett, Spirit Lake.

Pallbearers were Art Lincoln, Earl Mallicoat, Otto Newell, Elmer Hinrichs, Lyle Tompkins and William Rousch.
