Funeral service for Eugene A. Atkinson, 40, was held from the Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. J. K. Delahooke in charge, assisted by the Rev. C. E. Burdine. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery. Loder Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eugene A. Atkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Atkinson, was born in Anamosa, Aug. 25, 1904, and died Dec. 2, 1944, at his home in Anamosa. His entire life has been spent in the community of his birth. He was graduated from the Anamosa high school, and attended the University of Iowa at Iowa City, and the school of pharmacy at Denver, Colo. For the past 17 years he has been employed by the state reformatory.

Eugene Atkinson was united in marriage to Miss Betty Pazour, Marion, Nov. 10, 1927, the wedding taking place at the Little Brown church. During these years the family home was made in Anamosa. He was a member of the Methodist church at the time of his death, having joined the church when in high school.

Surviving are his wife, Betty, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Atkinson; a sister, Helen, Mrs. Charles Meyers, Solon; an aunt, Mrs. Jean Gardner, Cortney, Neb., besides other relatives.
