Pvt. Thomas J. Edwards, 32, Wyoming, has been reported killed in action in France Aug. 31, according to telegram received by his wife from the government Nov. 8. She had received word Sept. 18 that he was missing in action since Aug. 31.

He was born April 28, 1912, at Wyoming. He graduated from the Monmouth high school and attended Loras college, Dubuque. Most of his life was spent in the Wyoming-Monmouth community where he was engaged in farming with his brother.

April 7, 1942, he was married to Miss Virginia Eganhouse, Monmouth. Home was made in Davenport, where Tom was engaged in defense work until his induction into the army, Nov. 27, 1942.

He received his first training at Fort Knox, Ky., in the armored division. After 15 months he was sent to Fort Meade, Md., and later to an embarkation station in New York, from where he was sent to England and later to France.

Surviving besides his wife are his two children, Constance Ann and Thomas, Jr., whom he never saw; his mother, Mrs. Anna L. Edwards; one brother, Joseph, and two sisters, Helen, Mrs. J. Cyril O'Hara, all of Wyoming, and Mary Catherine, Mrs. Clarence Kehoe, Hopkinton, and seven nieces and three nephews.

Requiem high memorial mass will be offered by Rev. E. A. Kurth at Holy Trinity church, Baldwin, Saturday, Nov. 18, at 9:30 a.m.
