Funeral service for James Avert Corwin, 56, who died suddenly Sunday at his home in Anamosa, was held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., was the officiating minister and Loder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was made in Cedar Memorial park, Cedar Rapids. Marion Masonic lodge was in charge of the Masonic funeral ritual at the cemetery. Pallbearers were: James Haverly, Marion Platner, H. E. Bray, Clyde Barker, Horace Edison and Roy Weighels.

James Avert, son of Charles Stanley and Anna Reed Corwin, was born Feb. 24, 1890, at Newark, N.J. He came to Iowa with his family when a young child and spent most of his life in Anamosa. He was married to Blanche E. Remington Dec. 26, 1927. Two children, Betty Mae and James Douglas, were born to the union.

Surviving besides his wife and children are his mother, Mrs. Anna Corwin, a sister, Mrs. Joe Langdon, both of Clinton, and a brother, Ernest W., Anamosa.

Mr. Crowin was baptized in the Methodist church and has been associated with the Anamosa church. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Marion. Death was caused by an attack of heart disease.
