OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service for Samuel Carrington, 67, was held May 25 at the English Lutheran church with Rev. H H. Graening in charge. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, with Mrs. Palmer Vaughn accompanying at the piano. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Genevieve Fey, Mrs. Genevieve Stack, and Mrs. Deltha Dunlap. Casket bearers were Vit Lasack, Michael Souhrada, Frank Benhart, Mike Vacek, Henry Wieneke and Frank Hodoval. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mr. Carrington died Wednesday evening, May 22, in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a stroke suffered while on his route driving the school bus northeast of Oxford Junction. He had not picked up any of the children at the time and his car stalled in loose gravel, which averted any serious accident.

He was born near Monmouth, March 30, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carrington.

He was united in marriage in November, 1904 to Mary Trinka, Oxford Junction, and the couple had always made its home here. He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Miss Fern, Tacoma, Wash., three sisters, Mrs. Nick Cook, and Mrs. Ben Hansen, Oxford Mills, and Mrs. Jerome Mitchel, Monmouth, and a brother, Charles, Marion. One son, Dudley, preceded him in death.
