OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon in the Lutheran church for Herman Coon, 80, who died at his home in Oxford Mills Sunday morning following an illness of two years.

Rev. Fred Mittler, Clarence, conducted the service and hymns were sung by the choir. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Herman Coon was born July 13, 1865, in the rural community near Oxford Junction, the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Coon.

He lived his entire life here. He was employed as a car carpenter for the Milwaukee railroad, but had been retired for some years. He was united in marriage to Rose Austin, who with one son, Louis, preceeded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, Walter, Dallas, Texas, and Clair, Marion; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Coker and Mrs. Ethel Jeffrey, Oxford Junction, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
