OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Thursday afternoon in the Hayden funeral home for Mrs. Charlotte Coker, 81, who died in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Yarolim, at 8 a.m. Tuesday. She had been in failing health for some time.

The Rev. Wilbur Altheide conducted the service. Hymns were sung by Lyle Jeffrey and Margie Leslie. Those serving as pallbearers were Fred McClure, Austin Conwell, Chauncy Hodgden, Amos Hodgden, Ambrose Jeffrey and Nick Cook. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Coker was born Sept. 22, 1864, south of Oxford Mills, the daughter of Harvey and Louisa Batchellor. She had lived her entire life in this community. In 1880 she was united in marriage to George Coker, who proceeded her in death in 1918.

She was the mother of eleven children, five of whom survive. They are one daughter, Mrs. Yarolim, and a son, Lacy, Oxford Mills; Harry, Marion; Roy, Ottumwa; and Carl, Maquoketa, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
