16 August 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

CENTER JUNCTION--Funeral service for Wiley Wilber Coder, who died Aug. 6, in the home of his daughter, Iola Reisher, at Cedar Rapids, was held in the Center Junction Presbyterian church Wednesday of the last week, with Albert Schroeder, student pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Scotch Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were Alan Serbousek, Will Hansen, J. B. Seehusen, Gray Driebelbis, Joe Mead and Harley Burlgren. Hymns were sung by Lyle Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. T. E. Stanton.

Wylie Wilber Coder, 74, son of Jacob and Sarah (Nelson) Coder, was born at Center Junction;, May 9, 1871. Most of his life was spent in this community with the exception of a few years near Beloit, Kan.

His wife, Etta Withan Coder, and one son, Arthur, preceded him in death in 1923.

Surviving are three sons, Wilber and Howard, Cedar Rapids, and John, Olin, and three daughters, Iola Reischer, Cedar Rapids, Irene Meyer, Detroit, Mich., and Rose Mary Erenberger, Ely, and 17 grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Lee, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank W. Jones, Center Junction, and Mrs. William H. Boddy, Minneapolis.
