WYOMING - Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Brownell, 88, who died in her home, last Tuesday following a long illness was held from the Methodist church, Friday afternoon, with the Rev. E. G. Steinman, pastor, in charge.

Mary Winslow was born in Connecticut, Feb. 20, 1856. When she was two years old the family moved to near Smith Mills, N.Y. Here she attended the district school and later an academy and was employed for a time in a woolen mill.

Jan. 30, 1883, she was married to Squire A. Brownell. In February of 1884, they moved to Iowa to the Brownell farm, now tenanted by the grandson. In 1916 she moved to her present home in Wyoming.

Survivors are four daughters and one son: Mrs. Bert (Lillian) Peck, Faye Brownell, Irene Brownell, all of Wyoming; Mrs. August (Aurrell) Wolfe, Brandywine, Md.; Nelson Brownell, Iowa City; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband died in 1918, and a son, George, when he was three years old.
