Everett W. Stickley, sr., 73, Anamosa, died Saturday, Oct. 6, at State University hospital, Iowa City, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 2:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Ellis Webb will officiate at the services. Burial will be in North Madison cemetery, Center Junction.

Pallbearers are August Husmann, Henry Kammerman, Harold Eilers, Neman Meyers, Vincent Keating and Renk Eilers.

He was born June 15, 1889, son of John Stickley and Jennie Sutton Stickley, Jackson county. He was married to Ethel McDonald, May 24, 1911, at Monticello.

He had farmed in Jones county except for five years spent in Delaware county. He moved to Anamosa in 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; five children, Pauline, Mrs. Clifford Batchelder, Olin; Dwayne and Robert, Anamosa; Everett, jr., Manchester; Esther, Mrs. Neman Meyer, jr., Anamosa.

Others include one brother, Albert Stickley, Gary Owen; and one sister, Mrs. Averill Orr, Onslow, and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Clyde.
