Harry Grimm, 85, retired farmer and resident of Anamosa from 1919 to 1933, died at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City Oct. 5, where he had lived the past nine years. Funeral service and burial was held at Wyoming, Saturday.

He was born April 9, 1859, in Davenport, Iowa, and was a resident of Iowa all his life except for 15 years as a child when he lived in Coal Valley, Ill. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith when a youth. Sept. 24, 1884, he was married to Rebecca Ireland, Anamosa. To this union two children were born, Frank, who preceded his father in death in 1915, and Emma G., Mrs. William Luedemann, Marion.

Feb. 3, 1897, he was married to Caroline Burmeister. To this union three daughters were born, Christina, who died in infancy; Glady, Mrs. Frank Earsa, Fairfax; and Leona, Mrs. Stanley Scripture, Wyoming. His wife preceded him in death in April, 1928.

He leaves four granddaughters, Mrs. Clara Schlemmer, Arleen Luedemann, Burlington; Nadine Luedemann, Marion; and Goldy Scripture, Wyoming, also three great-grandsons, Kenneth, Keith and Carroll Schlemmer, Burlington, and 11 nieces and nephews.

WYOMING--Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon from the Methodist church with the Rev. E. G. Steinman in charge for Harry Grimm, who died after a month's illness at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City Thursday morning.

Deceased was born 86 years ago in Davenport. When three years of age the family moved to Coal Valley, Ill., but when he was 18, the home was transferred to the community, west of Wyoming. In September, 1884, he was married to Rebecca Ireland. Two children were born to this union, Frank, who died several years ago, and Emma, Mrs. Will Luedeman, Marion. Feb. 3, 1897, he was married to Caroline Burmeister. Three daughters were born to this union. Surviving daughters are Mrs. Frank Earsa, Fairfax, and Mrs. Stanley Scripture, Wyoming. Other survivors are four children and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Grimm died in 1928.

Mr. Grimm was a member of the I.O.O.F. for over 50 years. He was a member of the Eagle lodge of DeWitt. He entered the Odd Fellow home about nine years ago.
