John H. Folkers, 79, rural Anamosa, died Friday, June 12, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 15, at 2 p.m., at SS Peter and Paul Lutheran church, Monticello. Rev. Richard Zellmer conducted the service. Burial was in Prairie Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers included Albert Schrader, Clarence Bader, Henry Ricklefs, William J. Oltmann, jr., Leoanrd Johnson and Ben Brokens.

He was born Jan. 7, 1885, son of John H. Folkers and Catherine Heiken Folkers, Wayne township, Jones county. He had lived his life on a farm in Jones county.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. John Lubben, Anamosa; several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
