Irvin J. Hovet, 58, Anamosa, died unexpectedly early Sunday afternoon, July 12, at Wapsipinicon Country club following a game of golf.

Masonic services will be held Tuesday, July 14, at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, at 8 p.m. by Anamosa lodge No. 46 A.F.A.M.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m., at the Congregational church, Anamosa. Rev. Robert Cleveland will conduct the service. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

He was born April 29, 1906, at Hillsboro, N. Dak. He attended high school in North Dakota and Minnesota and graduated from St. Olaf college.

He was married to Grace Wineinger, May 7, 1933, at Bloomfield. He worked for the Bell Telephone Co. in Minneapolis, Minn., before coming to Iowa where he operated a Gamble store in Webster City several years before moving to Anamosa in 1940. After moving to Anamosa he operated the Anamosa Gamble store for 14 years. He had worked the last four years as an accountant for Maquoketa Valley Rural Electric Cooperative, Anamosa.

He was a member of Anamosa lodge No. 46 A.F. A.M. and had served as past master of the lodge; a member of Rotary club, past president of Rotary club; member of the Congregational church, Anamosa, and also taught a Sunday school class; and had served for several years on the school board.

He had a good singing voice and was active in his church choir and community musical events.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; one daughter, Nancy, Mrs. Roger Lundstrom, Rock Island, Ill.; a son, Kenneth Hovet, Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Kenneth Hovet, Ellicott City, Md.; one sister, Mrs. George Olson, Travers Airforce base, Calif.; and a grandson, Mark.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
