SCOTCH GROVE - Funeral services for Mrs. May Himebaugh, 91, former longtime postmaster at Scotch Grove, were held at the Presbyterian church, Scotch Grove, Thursday afternoon, July 2. She died at a nursing home in Wilton Junction following a lingering illness.

Rev. Lyle V. Kuehl, Peterson, conducted the service. Rev. Kuehl formerly lived in Scotch Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lacock, Wyoming, were vocalists. Mrs. Ronald Paulsen was organist.

Pallbearers included her grandchildren, Arthur P. Himebaugh, Monticello; Paul E. Paulsen and Ralph Paulsen, Scotch Grove, Clifford Decker, Monticello; Donald Grom, Scotch Grove, and Walter Seiler, Mount Vernon.

She was born in Scotch Grove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Moats, and had lived most of her life in the area. She was married to Ernest L. Himebaugh. For a short time couple operated a grocery store in Scotch Grove.

Following the death of her husband she operated a rooming house in Cedar Falls, before returning to Scotch Grove as postmaster. Following her retirement she lived in Scotch Grove before going to Wilton Junction.

She was a charter member of the Scotch Grove Women's Community club, and had held offices in the club; a member of Scotch Grove Presbyterian church, and had taught an adult class for 25 years, and also assisted as an assistant teacher for the same group; and a member of the Center Junction Women's club.

Survivors include two sons, Frank L. Himebaugh, Center Junction; Leslie R. Himebaugh, Monticello; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Paulsen, Scotch Grove; Mrs. C. B. Carson, Hopkinton; and Mrs. Paul Darling, Wilton Junction; several grandchildren and a great grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. W. B. Clark, Monticello, who made her home with the Himebaughs prior to her marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son, A. P. Himebaugh, a World war I veteran.

Persons were present for the service from Madison, Wisc.; Illinois, New York, Anamosa, Monticello, Elkader, Center Junction, Wyoming, Onslow, Hopkinton and Scotch Grove.
