26 December 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Floyd Stetson Shew, 66, Tucson, Ariz., former resident of the Anamosa area, died Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Veterans' hospital, Tucson, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 21, at 2:30 p.m., at the McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb conducted the service. Burial was in Antioch cemetery.

Miss Kathleen McNamara was organist.

He was born Oct. 8, 1897, at Manchester, Iowa. He was married Jan. 15, 1955, to Loretta Singer, New York City, at Nogales, Ariz.

He lived his life in the Olin vicinity before moving to Tucson a few years ago to make his home. Mr. Shew was engaged in the landscaping business.

He was a member of Disabled American veterans, chapter No. 18; World war I, Pina barracks, No. 218; Men's Garden club, Tucson, Ariz.; American Legion, Olin, and Knights of Pythias.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Klug, North Lake, Ill.; and Mrs. Laura Mae Kenney, Trinidad, Colo.; and one son, Richard Neidick, New York City.

Others include one brother, Lawrence Shew, Clinton; one sister, Marguerite Shew, Oelwein; two granddaughters, Patricia Ann Tamburelli, Trinidad, Colo., and Bernadette Marie Tamburelli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Anna Ketelsen Shew.
