GREEN HILL--Virgil Emerson, former resident of this community, was killed last Saturday morning when the car in which he was riding collided with a train near Springville.

Mr. Emerson was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Laucamp, Morley, with whom he made his home while attending Morley school. Burial services took place Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Green Hill cemetery.

GREEN HILL--Funeral service was held at the Green cemetery Tuesday, Jan. 21 for Virgil Emerson, Cedar Rapids, who was killed Jan. 18 near Springville, when the truck in which he was riding collided with a train.

Virgil was a son of Gil Emerson, Olin. After the death of his mother, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Laucamp, he resided with his grandparents and attended Morley school. He was born July 31, 1915. A Cedar Rapids minister officiated at the services, assisted by Rev. S. P. Weaver. Mesdames Georgia Steenhoek and Nina Willison sang two selections, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "In the Garden". Casket bearers were Avert Cook, Ivan Duncan, Herbert Levsen, Harve Northy, Cliff Miller and Lawrence Duncan.
