5 September 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

AMBER--Carl G. Siebels, 76, died Thursday morning about 9 a.m. while working in the farmyard. Medical examiner said he died from natural causes.

Funeral services are pending for the well known farmer. His body was taken to Goettsch's Funeral home in Anamosa.

Mr. Siebels is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Folkers, Anamosa; and Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, Central City; five brothers, Will, Henry and Hank of Anamosa, George of Amber and Rhinehard of Monticello; five sons, Wesley, Leroy, Louis and Maynard of Anamosa and Harvey of Monticello; and a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Freese of Scotch Grove.

12 September 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Carl G. Siebels, 76, Amber farmer, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Siebels farm.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1:30 p.m., at Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Luther Wachholz conducted the services. Burial was in Wayne cemetery.

Pallbearers included Howard Soper, August Monk, sr., Carl Wehling, William T. Jansen, Herman Engelbart, and Alva Gerdes.

He was born March 3, 1887, at Jackson township, son of Garret and Anna Rieken Siebels. He married Anna Zimmerman Oct. 11, 1911, and lived their married life near Wayne and Amber, farming.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Frese, Scotch Grove; five sons, Harvey, Monticello; Wesley, Louis, LeRoy and Maynard, all of Anamosa; five brothers, Will and Hank T., Anamosa; George, Amber; Rhinhard and J. H. Siebels, Monticello; one sister, Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, Central City; and 23 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children and one sister.
