September 12, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. H. E. "Doc" Stover, 81, Anamosa, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, at her farm home south of Anamosa, following several months of illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home. Rev. Walter D. Wigger conducted the service. Burial was in Forest cemetery.

Pallbearers included Robert Bainbridge, Clifford Rogers, Don S. Ruhl, Fay Nielsen, Orvil Nielsen and Edward Wood.

She was born March 12, 1882, Forest community, Bertha A. Meeks, daughter of John W. and Rachael E. Taylor Meeks. She married Hughey E. Stover on Nov. 24, 1903. He preceded her in death in 1947. They lived their married life on the present farm on the Morley road.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James Austin, and two grandsons, William and Robert Carlson, and eight great grandchildren.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and sister, and one half-sister.
