16 August 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for William B. Seeley, 78, who died Thursday evening at his home in Anamosa, was held Saturday afternoon at the Smykil Home for Funerals. Rev. E. E. Walker of the Methodist church was the officiating minister, and burial was made at Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers were William D. Stroud, Russell L. Norton, Kenneth C. Taylor, Clifford Taylor, Francis Houstman and Joe Axline.

William B., son of Horace and Mary Seeley, was born on a farm near Olin, Nov. 7, 1866. He spent his childhood and youth in and around Olin and Oxford Junction. In June, 1893, he married Mary Alice Stout, and their early married life was spent at Oxford Junction, moving to Anamosa about 40 years ago where they have since made their home.

To this union were born 13 children, Charles E., Ray S., and Donald, all of Anamosa; Norman, Stone City; Lieut. Harland and Pfc. Max, now overseas in the military service; Ruth and Mrs. Bess Byers, Anamosa; Mildred, Milwaukee; Mrs. Edith Rigley, Marion; Mrs. Wilma Hogan, Pontiac, Mich.; all of whom survive.

A daughter, Mrs. Florence Morehouse, and a son, Robert Dale, preceded their father in death. There are also 37 grandchildren and one great grandchild surviving.
